SUN JULY 26 2026-theGBJournal| The global success of the just-concluded FIFA World Cup has continued to reverberate on music charts, with the tournament’s official anthem, “Dai Dai” by Shakira and Nigeria’s Burna Boy, maintaining its dominance across major streaming platforms weeks after the final.

According to the World Music Awards, the song has topped the Global Spotify chart for a 19th consecutive day, recording 6.37 million daily streams, while also remaining No. 1 on the Worldwide Apple Music chart for a fifth day and the European Apple Music chart for a 31st consecutive day.

The anthem has climbed to the top of Apple Music rankings in 27 countries, underscoring its enduring appeal beyond the World Cup.

The accompanying music video has also sustained strong momentum, remaining the world’s most-watched video on YouTube for 31 consecutive days with more than 550 million views and six million likes.

It is currently the most-viewed music video released in 2026 and ranks as the 12th-fastest video in YouTube history to surpass 500 million views, achieving the milestone in just 59.4 days. The feat marks Shakira’s fastest video to reach the milestone and Burna Boy’s first.

The anthem also retained the No. 1 position for a third straight week on Spotify’s global weekly chart with 40.28 million weekly streams, while leading the United World Chart for a fourth consecutive week.

It has also held the summit of the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for four weeks and the Billboard Global 200 for a second week.

The World Cup hit has reached No. 1 on weekly charts in 24 countries across Europe, Latin America and the Middle East, further cementing its status as one of the biggest crossover records of the year.

The song’s success has also boosted the global profiles of its performers. Shakira has become the first Latin female artist to surpass 100 million monthly Spotify followers, now exceeding 104 million, while Burna Boy became the first African artist to cross the 50 million monthly follower mark, with nearly 57 million followers, reinforcing his position among the world’s most-streamed artists.
