Despite a challenging operating environment, the hospitality giant delivered solid top-line growth while tightening costs—underscoring the strength of its business model and its ability to convert revenue into sustainable earnings growth.

Transcorp Hotels Plc, the hospitality arm of Transnational Corporation Plc (Transcorp Group), reported an impressive performance for the first quarter ended March 31, 2026, with gains recorded across key financial indicators.

The company posted revenue of N22.41 billion, representing a 9% year-on-year increase from N20.64 billion in Q1 2025. Profitability metrics also strengthened during the period. Gross profit margin expanded to 77%, up from 75% in Q1 2025, driven by enhanced service delivery and operational optimisation.

At the same time, cost discipline remained evident, with the cost of sales margin declining to 23% from 25%, highlighting the company’s effective cost management strategies.

Management attributed the performance to a deliberate focus on efficiency, innovation, and value creation.

Managing Director/CEO, Uzoamaka Oshogwe, noted that the results reflect a strategy built on operational discipline and resilience, positioning the company to sustain growth while raising service standards across its portfolio.

Similarly, Chief Finance Officer, Oluwatobiloba Ojediran, emphasized that the quarter’s performance demonstrates the impact of consistent cost optimisation and execution discipline, enabling the company to grow revenue while improving margins without compromising service quality.
