SAT AUG 01 2026-theGBJournal| The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has inaugurated an Investment Committee to oversee its Nigerian Content Intervention Fund (NCIF) Equity Investment Scheme, in a move aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability and merit-based selection of indigenous companies seeking access to the fund.

The committee, inaugurated on Friday by the Executive Secretary of the NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, at the Board’s Lagos Liaison Office in collaboration with the Bank of Industry (BoI), will serve as the independent gatekeeper for equity investment decisions under the scheme, ensuring that funding is channelled only to commercially viable businesses capable of advancing local participation across Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

The committee has been tasked with conducting rigorous reviews and due diligence on investment applications, assessing their commercial viability and strategic alignment with the objectives of the Nigerian Content Development Fund before recommending projects for approval.

Its mandate is designed to ensure that only qualified, credible and high-impact indigenous companies with strong growth potential benefit from the equity scheme, while reinforcing prudent fund management, transparency and accountability in the deployment of public resources.

The inauguration represents a key milestone in the implementation of the NCDMB’s US$100 million Equity Investment Scheme, which was launched in December 2025 to expand indigenous participation in the oil and gas industry through long-term equity financing.

It also underscores the NCDMB’s push to strengthen governance around one of its flagship intervention programmes as it seeks to deepen Nigerian participation in the energy sector through sustainable financing rather than broad-based disbursements.
