TUE APRIL 14 2026-theGBJournal| Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, today received Nigeria’s Civil Aviation Master Plan (CAMP) from the International Civil Aviation Organization during the opening session of the ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS) in Marrakesh, marking a significant step in the country’s aviation reform agenda.
At the high-level gathering, the minister also participated as a special guest at a Ministerial Round Table, where he spoke on the “Future of Aviation Workforce in Nigeria.”
He highlighted ongoing efforts by the government to bridge the skills gap within the aviation ecosystem and prepare a workforce capable of meeting emerging global standards.
The unveiling of the Civil Aviation Master Plan signals a structured and forward-looking roadmap for transforming Nigeria’s aviation sector over the coming decades.
The plan is anchored on globally recognised pillars aimed at strengthening infrastructure, enhancing safety, and improving operational efficiency.
Central to the strategy is the modernization of airport infrastructure to handle rising passenger and cargo volumes, alongside the integration of advanced technologies such as unmanned aerial systems (drones), positioning Nigeria to compete more effectively in the global aviation space.
