MON MAR 23 2026-theGBJournal| The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) say they will arraign former Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufa’i and one Joel Adoga on Tuesday, at the Federal High Court of Nigeria in the Kaduna Judicial Division.
ICPC say the charges against El-Rufa’i ranges from conversion of and possession of public property, to money laundering.
Similarly, another charge against El-Rufa’i and one Amadu Sule (LEDA) has also been filed before a Kaduna State High Court in the Kaduna Judicial Division.
The charges, according to the ICPC ranges from abuse of of office, fraud, and intent to commit fraud to conferring undue advantage, among others.
”Both charges were filed by the ICPC on the 18th of March,” the Commission noted.
The announcement comes amid call by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to release all other political detainees held ”simply because they do not share the same ideology or political platform with the government of the day.”
The former Vice President made the call when he led a delegation on a solidarity visit to the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami on his return Saturday night from Umrah (lesser Hajj).
