SUN OCT 18 2026-theGBJournal| The Yobe State Government, under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni, has approved a new salary structure for the Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries, Auditor-General and Accountant-General, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to improving workers’ welfare and strengthening the state’s civil service.

The approval represents another step in the Buni administration’s ongoing efforts to enhance the welfare of public servants, with additional welfare initiatives underway to improve their well-being, boost morale and promote efficiency in government service.

Speaking on the development, the Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa Shehu, disclosed that the new monthly salary structure provides ₦1,430,830.75 for the Head of Service, ₦1,203,851.55 for Permanent Secretaries, and ₦1,114,666.36 each for the Auditor-General and Accountant-General.

Shehu expressed appreciation to Governor Buni for his continued understanding of the needs of civil servants and his commitment to creating a more supportive working environment for public officers.

He noted that the approval forms part of the administration’s broader approach to workers’ welfare, which includes existing welfare packages and further initiatives currently being pursued by the government.

According to him, the sustained attention to workers’ welfare reflects the government’s recognition that a motivated and well-supported workforce is essential for effective policy implementation, improved service delivery and the achievement of its development objectives.

The Head of Service urged the beneficiaries and other civil servants across the state to reciprocate the government’s gesture through greater dedication, discipline, professionalism and commitment to their duties.

He also encouraged support for the All Progressives Congress (APC), in line with the party’s mobilisation slogan, “Daga Sama Har Kasa” (from top to bottom).

The latest salary approval further reinforces the Buni administration’s emphasis on workers’ welfare, with the government continuing to pursue additional measures aimed at improving the conditions of service and strengthening the capacity of the Yobe State public service.
