THUR MAY 07 2026-theGBJournal| On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Olayemi Cardoso, hosted the Standard and Poor’s (S&P Global) team, which visited the country for the periodic review of Nigeria’s credit ratings.
The team, led by Mr Roberto Sifon-Arevalo, Global Head of Sovereign Ratings, held a productive discussion with Governor Cardoso as part of a series of meetings with key ministries, departments, and agencies.
The Governor highlighted Nigeria’s credit strengths, improved resilience, macroeconomic stability, and the clear gains from recent reforms across key areas of the economy.
He also emphasised the country’s leadership’s commitment to staying the course and consolidating the gains from the reform phase into sustainable growth and development.
