Zenith Bank plc appoints Ebenezer Onyeagwu to replace Peter Amangbo as new CEO

MON, APRIL 08 2019-theG&BJournal- Zenith Bank Plc today announced the appointment of Ebenezer Onyeagwu as new Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. Onyeagwu replaces Mr Peter Amangbo whose tenure expires on May 31 2019.

The bank said the appointment takes effect June 1 2019 subject to the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Prior to his appointment, Ebenezer Onyeagwu had been the deputy managing director. He has over 30 years cognate banking experience and 17 years at Zenith Bank Plc.

Onyeagwu, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), is also an alumnus of the Unversity of Oxford from where he obtained a post graduate diploma in financial strategy, and a certificate in macroeconomics.

Amangbo had been at the helm of Zenith Bank since June 2014 when the bank experienced growth across board including an amazing surge in shareholders’ fund to over 470%, as well as 480% growth in assets over a five year period.
