FRI SEPT 26 2025-theGBJournal| The Federal Airport Authority (FAAN), in partnership with Paystack, leading payment processing company, has launched a cashless payment solution named ‘Operation Go Cashless’ across all airports beginning with the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
With the programme, FAAN will effectively end the collection of cash at its revenue points, including airport access gates, car parks, FAAN VIP and protocol lounges, this process takes effect from September 29, 2025.
According to FAAN, this initiative responds to the growing demand for safe, modern, and transparent payment systems while ensuring Nigeria’s airports remain aligned with global digital trends.
”By reducing reliance on cash, FAAN aims to enhance efficiency, improve revenue assurance, and deliver a better customer experience at our airports,” the Authority said on Thursday.
FAAN said it has deployed its ambassadors at the access gates and around the terminals to guide users with onboarding, provide demonstration, and answer questions they may have.
”In addition, passengers can obtain a FAAN Go Cashless Card at any airport access gate in Lagos and Abuja, and after collection users are encouraged to activate and fund their cards immediately,” FAAN adds.
