MON AUG 18 2025-theGBJournal| The United States Diplomatic Mission Nigeria has issued a fresh visa reminder to Nigerian applicants wanting to visit the States, warning that failure to follow the requirement could lead to serious consequences including ineligibility for future visas.

In a statement highlighting the development Monday on its social media handle, the U.S Mission said, visa applicants are required to list all social media usernames or handles of every platform they have used from the last 5 years on the DS-160 visa application form.

”Omitting social media information could lead to visa denial and ineligibility for future visas,” the Mission warned.

The Mission adds that applicants must certify that the information in their visa application is true and correct before they sign and submit.

The latest directive follows reminder issued five-days ago to students studying in the United States which stipulates that in the event of a student dropping out, skip classes, or leave his/her program of study without informing the school, the student’s visa may be revoked.

The Mission said the student may also lose eligibility for future U.S. visas.
