TUE, MAR 19 2024-theGBJournal| Zenith Bank has elevated its Group Deputy Managing Director, Dr. Adora Remy Umeoji, to the position of Group Managing Director/Chief Executive, with effect from June 1. 2024, a move that underscores the bank’s tradition and succession strategy of grooming leaders from within.
The appointment is subject to approval by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Dr. Umeoji, who has been the bank’s deputy managing director since October 28, 2016, takes over from Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, whose tenure, according to the bank, expires on May 31, 2024.
Umeoji, who has spent the last 26 years of her banking career with Zenith, is an alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Business School where she attended the Advanced Management Program 9AMP) and an alumnus of Columbia Business School with a Certificate in the Global Banking Program.
She also holds a certificate in Economics for Business from the prestigious MIT Sloan School of Management, USA.
