LAGOS FEBRUARY 25, 2017 – Wema Bank Plc is promoting healthy savings culture with its Purple Savings Account, which targets youths, especially new students from higher institutions across the country.
The bank participated in the orientation programmes for new students of Lagos State University (LASU); Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State; the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, among others, during which it promoted its banking products and services to the students.
The exercise is in line with the bank’s commitment to promoting Central Bank of Nigeria’s financial inclusion mandate. Speaking during the LASU 2017 Orientation Programme, held at the main campus, Ojo, Wema Bank Regional Manager, Apapa, Femi Olowoyeye, said the lender was partnering with the school to boost students’ digital banking experiences and offer quality services.
He said students could open Wema Bank Purple Account with N1, 000 with a student Identity Card, adding that the exercise was expected to boost the students love for savings.
