
TUE OCT 14 2025-theGBJournal| Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri on Monday in Government House, received the management team of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) Company.
The team led by it’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, was in the state to seek for partnership in establishing a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion station.
In his remarks, Governor Diri thanked Chief Chukwuma for his decision to invest in Bayelsa, stating that the government was ready to partner with Innoson group to make it a reality.
While stating that the world was moving into cleaner and renewable energy, the governor said the establishment of the conversion station was timely.
”On behalf of the government of Assured Prosperity and the good people of Bayelsa State, I welcome you and your entourage.
So, it is a welcome development for you to say that you want to establish a CNG conversation station in the state, and we are ready to work with you on that.
Your coming is very timely, and I’m very sure that by next year, part of our budget that the ministry of transport must note is that, we must procure CNG buses to ease the cost of transportation in our state,” Governor Diri stated.
Top government officials at the courtesy visit included, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, deputy governor of Bayelsa State, Prof. Nimibofa Ayawei, Secretary to the state government, Dr. Peter Akpe, Chief of Staff, government house, Mr. Irorodamie Komonibo, deputy chief of staff, Comrade Gowon Toruyouyei, deputy chief of staff, deputy governor’s office and other top government officials.
