TUE, APRIL 21 2020-theG&BJournal- The US President Donald Trump has suspended immigration into the United States amid the ravaging impact of the coronavirus on jobs in the country.
He announced the ban through a tweet Monday as part of tough measures to stem the dipping number of US jobs and said he is backing it up with an executive order.
‘’In the light of the attack from the Invincible Enemy, as well as the need to protect the jobs of our Great American Citizens, I will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States.’’ Trump said on his tweet.
He did not give details of the latest order.
The ‘’Invincible Enemy’’ has so far wiped out 22 million jobs, 10 years of job growth in the country and killed over 41, 000 Americans with more than 780, 000 people infected.
The US had suspended all almost all visas processing since the emergence of the pandemic, including immigration visas.
