MON, 16 NOV, 2020-theGBJournal Boris Johnson wrote on twitter Sunday night: ‘’Today I was notified by NHS Test and Trace that I must self-isolate as I have been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.’’
The surprising news of a second bout of self-isolation comes as he prepares to make what is seen as ‘’critical announcements’’ about coronavirus and after UK reported its coronavirus cases went up by 24,962 on Sunday.
Mr Johnson said he has no symptoms, ‘’but am following the rules and will be working from No 10 as I continue to lead the government’s pandemic response.’’
Reports say Johnson met with COVID-19 positive Ashfield MP Lee Anderson on Thursday. He will now self-isolate for two weeks.
A No 10 spokesman was quoted by news media as saying that the ‘’the PM is well and does not have any symptoms of COVID-19.’’
He will not be seen in Parliament but will keep communicating with his aides and the country from his Downing Street home.
In April, the Prime Minister spent three nights in intensive care after he fell seriously ill with the deadly disease.
