THUR, APRIL 16 2020-theG&BJournal-UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab-deputizing for Boris Johnson, the UK Prime Minister has announced three more weeks of coronavirus lockdown.
Raab noted advice by scientists that transmission in the community is almost certainly below the level at which the outbreak will peter out-but there is still spread in hospitals and care home
He gave five criteria for when the lockdown could start to be loosened-a consistent reduction in death rate, evidence that transmission is at manageable levels, low danger of a second peak, the NHS will not be overwhelmed and capacity for wide scale testing and PPE provision.
The country has announced a total of 13, 729 deaths from coronavirus.
