UBA Group Chairman’s Forum draws dignitaries from 23 countries as VP Osinbajo shares key insights on Africa’s growth trajectory

MON 14 FEB, 2022-theGBJournal- Pan-African banking institution, UBA Plc weekend hosted the annual Group Chairman’s Forum at the Transcorp Hotel, Abuja, drawing board members and executives from all its 23 countries of presence, including Country Ambassadors, lawmakers, business executives as well as Group Chairman, Tony Elumelu, Group Managing Director, Kennedy Uzoka and Vice President Prof. Yomi Osinbajo.

The Forum is an integration summit for re-strategising, re-evaluation of Corporate governance across board to actualise the bank’s goals and targets for each financial year.

Vice President Osinbajo at the Forum shared a key address on Africa’s growth trajectory in the next few decades, focusing on digitisation and Climate change.

On Digital technology, the Vice President said it offers the most effective way for Africa to leapfrog African development. According to him, clean energy sources are the fastest-growing energy segments and will certainly be key economic driver.

The VP noted that energy demand in Nigeria and across Africa is set to rise, ‘’as indeed it must, to deliver the industrialisation, jobs and economy-wide progress people deserve.’’

Osinbajo also shared his views on the journey towards zero emissions and deploying digitisation to initiate mass education and tackle poverty.

‘’Our continent will fulfill its potentials and deliver prosperity when public and private sector players do their part, via funding,’’ Osinbajo said.
