WED NOV 06 2024-theGBJournal| Former U.S. President Donald Trump has taken a decisive lead in the race to the White House as the Republican Party wrestle back control of the Senate in an election many had called ”tight’.
The former president won key battle states of North Carolina and Georgia and also taken a string of other states including Texas, Florida and Iowa. The Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris secured California and Colorado.
So far, Donald Trump has secured 246 electoral vote versus 187 for Harris with eleven more to go, and he is expected to speak in Florida shortly after winning the two key states of North Carolina and Georgia.
If the election goes Trump’s way, it will be an extraordinary political achievement, and one many did not foresee coming.
