Movies produced in Lagos, Nigeria, will be feted at this year’s Toronto Film Festival as part of the City-to-City sidebar.

In the City-to-City section of TIFF 2016, programmed by Cameron Bailey, filmmakers from Lagos, Nigeria, will be put on center stage. Previous cities featured over the sidebar’s eight-year history have included London, Tel Aviv, Istanbul, Buenos Aires, Mumbai, Athens and Seoul.

City-to-City features work from filmmakers living in thriving cinematic hotspots. Nigerian cinema, known as Nollywood, is second only to Bollywood in terms of production output, and Lagos is the country’s hub of cinema.

The lineup of films selected from Lagos to feature in the City-to-City section of the festival will be announced in August. TIFF 2016 will take place from September 8 to 18, 2016 in Toronto, Canada.
