FRI AUG 09 2024-theGBJournal| Nigerian sprint hurdler and World record holder, Tobi Amusan has been beaten and out of the Women’s Olympics 100 meters hurdle final today, finishing 9th overall.
Amusan, slow to get off the block, ran 12.55 in the first heat of the Semi-finals to place third, a time beaten by both Jamaican and French athletes in the third Semi-finals.
Both athletes clocked 12.44 and 1.52 respectively, enough to see off Amusan’s time.
Amusan was Nigeria’s big hope for a medal at the Paris Olympics on the track fields as Nigeria’s other hope, the 4X400 relay quartet were disqualified for sporting infringement after a stellar run.
