TUE, APRIL. 25 2023-theGBJournal | Mr Carl Raymond R. Cruz has resigned as the managing director of Unilever Nigeria Plc, the company announced today.
Unilever Nigeria PLC Board, at its Board meeting held on 20 April, 2023 considered and approved Raymond R. Cruz’s resignation.
Cruz will be replaced by Mr Tim Kleinebenne who is currently Managing Director of Unilever Côte d’Ivoire.
Kleinebenne has also served as Managing Director of Unilever Ethiopia, where he established the business and built it into a leading local consumer goods manufacturer, and as Managing Director of Unilever Caribbean.
Raymond R. Cruz resignation takes effect from 4 May, 2023 after the Annual General Meeting while Tim Kleinebenne appointment takes effect from 5 May, 2023.
Unilever’s Board acknowleged Cruz’s outstanding work which it says, ”delivered significant rises in both turnover and profit and set Unilever Nigeria on a path to sustainable and profitable growth after steering the company through the difficult years of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
