TUE, AUGUST 08 2023-theGBJournal |The Nigeria Senate Monday concluded the screening of Ministerial nominees and confirmed 45 out of the 48 nominees sent in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as three others undergo further scrutiny.

Former Kaduna State Governor, El Rufai, nominee from Delta State, Stella Okotete, whose name stirred some controversy earlier and Abubakar Danladi from Taraba State are those whose confirmation is stalled for further grilling by the Senators.

The screening exercise came to a close with the screening of Mariya Mahmoud and Festus Keyamo whose confirmation was briefly stalled when the Senators failed to agree on his suitability after Darlington Nwokocha, Senator representing Abia Central moved a motion for the suspension of his screening for accusing 9th Assembly of corruption.

Nwokocha had reminded the Senator of Keyamo’s ”arrogance” that Keyamo, a former Minister of State for Labour and Productivity under the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, refused to honour an invitation to explain a Special Public Works Programme he initiated then, involving billions of Naira.

President Tinubu sent the first list of nominees, 28 of them, on July 27 for confirmation
