MON NOV 17 2025-theGBJournal| Armed terrorists have reportedly attacked the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School (GGCSS) in Maga, Zuru Emirate of Kebbi State in the early hours of Monday, killing the Vice Principal, Hassan Yakubu Makuku, and abducted an unknown number of female students.
The attack comes five days after the State Governor Dr. Nasir Idris declared that no part of ”Kebbi land is under the occupation of bandits,” while declaring open the Arewa Broadcast Media Practitioners’ Forum 2025 Summit at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Birnin Kebbi.
Today’s attack is a stark reminder of the entrenched insecurity in some part of northern Nigeria and, resurrects memories of the kidnapped Chibok girls in the night of April 14-15 2014.
State Government officials are yet to comment on the development but many residents say they are deeply heart-broken, as one in two have a child kidnapped by the terrorists.
