TECNO Mobile on Thursday unveiled a new product in Lagos called `Boom J8 Hi0S,’ a stylish smart phone with 7.35mm ultra slim and several new features.

The TECNO’s Managing Director, Mr Chidi Okonkwo, said at the launching that “Boom J8 flaunts an upgraded 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory expanded to 132GB, among other features.

The device allows music lovers to access a huge catalogue of music and videos from African and International artistes.

“TECNO Boom J8 is a total upgrade on all predecessor music phones TECNO has released in the past years- its high-end specification is testament to this claim.

“The TECNO Boom J8 cameras got a boost, up from 8, 0MP back camera in predecessor Boom J7 to 13MP AF Back/5.0MP Front geo-tagging cameras with dual LED flash,’’ he explained.

Also speaking, Mr Kenneth Uzoekwe, an official of Nigerian Communication Commission, noted that most of the network failures being experienced by cell-phone users were due poor quality of phones.

According to him, not many people know that inferior phones are actually responsible for the poor quality of network services and not as a result of service failure from service providers.

“So we are going to conduct sensitization workshop for people to know what to check out for when buying a cell-phone in the market,’’ he said.

Similarly, the Head of Consumer Protection Council, Lagos office, Mr Joshua Nggada, said council was established by the Federal Government to protect the interest of consumers in all segment of the economy.

“Some people might want to know what has consumer council has to do with services offered by auto mobile.

“They are the ones that give you services after paying for it and as far as the consumer is concern, the Nigerian Protection Council is concerned too,’’ he said.

On his part, the Group Head Electrical/Electronic, Standard Organization of Nigeria, Mr Richard Adewumi, urged Nigerians to always verify the standards product before being purchased.
