THUR, SEPT 14 2023-theGBJournal |Grid restoration is in progress and has reached advanced stage says Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN)Thursday following near-total power blackout in Nigeria.
The Company suggests in a statement seen by theGBJournal that power supply is now back in supply in the West, North Central, South, East and a large portion of the Northern part of the country.
TCN noted amid skeletal services around that there were initial setbacks in the course of the grid restoration but assured that it didn’t amount to another collapse.
The power supply restoration is sequel to the total grid collapse which occurred at 12.35 am, this morning, causing outage nationwide and sending power level down to zero megawatts.
Today’s outage is considered the most serious in the country despite 421 days of consistent grid stability.
theGBJournal checks reveal that power levels have risen to about 650MW at around 3.15pm, which is still well below the usual dail average of 4,100MW.
