Talent Empowerment Program (TEP) creates awareness for talents in music and acting

WED, MAY 9 2018-theG&BJournal-The Talent empowerment program, a non- governmental organization under the umbrella of Christabel Communications initiated by Miss Julie Omeike is aimed to improve realities. The concept officially kicked of implementation in December 3rd 2011, with only fifteen participants  in a small conference hall in Ikeja, embracing a core value to improve reading culture and enhance writing skills through book launches, conferences and charity visitations.  The pioneer event in 2011  took place at  the Reliance Hotels Ikeja, since then; pet projects on improving private and government school libraries were on the increase.

Over two hundred schools and institutions in Nigeria and overseas were empowered with complimentary copies of fiction books that centered on unadulterated patriotism, family values domestic violence, educational significance just to mention a few.

This was one of the numerous achievements of the Non- govermental organization at that time. The support for eye care treatment and kidney transplant in communities were testimonials that shaped the horizon of the brand in 2012. This resulted to a broader objective  to promote enterpreneurship and skill acquisition particulary to redress the challenges in the Nigerian economy, Christabel Communications branded a new focus to resourceful living by instigating the Talent empowerment Program.

This non- governmental organization centered on discovering talents in writing, music and acting thereby creating opportunities where talented individuals can earn a living. Pacelli School for the blind ajao road surulere, eternal father divine mercy house alapere Ibadan among others have benefited from TEP both in cash and in kind.

The seventh year annivesary took place at the Eucharistic heart of Jesus Congregation EHJ Auditorium toyin street Ikeja on the 7th of May 2018. Despite the low turn out of guests, the event was thrilled by St thomas Catholic Church adult choir, MSB & Friends, Gifted kids by Constance entertainment, St Gregory theatre group from the Catholic Youth Organization St Leo’s parish and  St Agnes Musical Society.

Awareness was created on the need to use talents as a resource for putting food on the table and a form of service to humanity. The founder, Ms Julie Omeike emphasized on the need for Nigerian talents to shine the light. The event was attended by sixty- two guests including performers and volunteers.  Mrs. Belinda Amao, Head teacher Chrisland Schools also graced the event and mentioned her excitement to be part of the project, commending the Founder for her courage, she was proud to mention that Ms. Julie Omeike is an almer mater of Chrisland Schools and was pleased that she had set a good example for others to follow.
