WED, OCT 25 2023-theGBJournal|The Supreme Court will dekiver its verdict tomorrow in the appeals filed by the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
They are challenging the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, President Bola Tinubu in the 25 February election.
The A seven-member panel of the Supreme Court, led by Justice Inyang Okoro heard the briefs of argument and final submissions of counsels to parties, which was also adopted, on Tuesday before Court made its pronouncement to reserved judgment on ”a date to be communicated.”
However, the disclosure today that the Court will give its verdict on Thursday comes as a surprise to analysts and political watchers who expected a prolong delay before the verdict and given past experience where it took longer before the verdict is out.
Parties to the case say they are confident there will be fair verdict given their evidence and ”tight” briefs in the matter which also draws into question the President Tinubu’s academic records and identity.
