FRI NOV 28 2025-theGBJournal| Bauchi State Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, on Thursday presented the 2026 Appropriation Bill valued at over N887 billion Naira at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Bauchi.
Titled the Budget of Hope and Consultation, the proposal, the Governor said ”reflects my administration’s firm commitment to inclusive governance, long-term planning, and strategic investment in the key sectors that drive our state’s development.”
Governor Mohammed explained that the 2026 budget was designed to consolidate the reforms we have already set in motion, while responding to emerging economic realities at both the state and national levels.
”This proposal is the outcome of extensive consultations with communities, stakeholders, and policy experts, ensuring that our priorities align with the genuine needs and aspirations of our people.
I described the budget as a comprehensive roadmap for sustainable growth, social inclusion, and the development of resilient infrastructure across Bauchi State.”
The Governor also highlighted major allocations to education, healthcare, agriculture, rural roads, water supply, and youth empowerment areas that are central to improving livelihoods and expanding opportunity for our citizens.
”Furthermore, I reaffirmed my administration’s unwavering commitment to completing ongoing projects and initiating new ones that will enhance productivity, create jobs, and strengthen our local economies.
I appreciate the lawmakers for acknowledging the clarity of the presentation and for pledging to undertake a timely and diligent legislative review of the budget, he said while presenting the spending plan to members of the State House of Assembly.
