SOKOTO, AUGUST 4, 2016 – Sokoto State Government has spent about N133 million on the construction of the 13 kilometre Hetere-Ge’ere road in Dange-Shuni Local Government, the Commissioner for Rural and Urban Development, Alhaji Abdullahi Maigwandu, has said.Maigwandu said at a ministerial press briefing on Thursday in Sokoto that the road project had been inaugurated for the betterment of the rural populace.
According to him, the ministry is taking measures to open more feeder roads across the state to enhance socio-economic activities, especially in rural areas.
Maigwandu appealed to residents to develop the culture of reporting cases of damaged roads for quick repairs.
He said that the Department of Roads Repairs of the ministry had been equipped with basic working tools to address any challenges in the maintenance of rural feeder roads in any part of the state .
