SOKOTO, AUGUST 2, 2016 – Sokoto State House of Assembly has passed a motion for the construction of a 13 kilometre road linking seven towns and villages in Silame Local Government.The road would pass through Yarume, Gabbuwa, Jekanadu, Tulluwa, Ganzalwa, Tozo and Silame.
The assembly’s decision followed a motion during its sitting on Tuesday by Alhaji Atiku Liman, (APC- Silame), which was seconded by Alhaji Murtala Bello (APC- Wamakko).
Liman said, when constructed, the road would ease the suffering of the people and promote socio-economic activities in the several communities that would benefit from it.
“Therefore, the road will in further boost their socio-economic activities, particularly in the course of transporting goods and assorted farm products,” he said.
The motion was unanimously passed, and the Speaker, Alhaji Salihu Maidaji, who presided over the sitting, directed the Clerk of the assembly to forward to the governor, the resolution.
