Shell Nigeria show cases contribution to Nigerian Content development at the 11th Practical Nigerian Content Forum

WED. 07 DEC, 2022-theGBJournal| Top executives of Shell Companies in Nigeria and Managing Director, Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited, Osagie Okunbor and stakeholders in the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry gathered in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State for the 11th Practical Nigerian Content Forum.

The Forum, with the theme, ”Deepening Nigerian Content Opportunities in The Decade of Gas,” is focused on issues such as opportunities in the Nigerian gas market and the result of various initiatives which the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has pushed for Nigerian Content, as envisaged in its 10-year Strategic Roadmap, in the past 5 years.

The President, Nigerian Gas Association and Managing Director, Shell Nigeria Gas, Ed Ubong moderated a session on Day 2 of the Forum with the theme, ”Harnessing Domestic Gas Market Opportunities to Meet Future Demand.

Shell Nigeria, a platinum sponsor of the Forum, has made major contributions to developing Nigeria’s human capital and contracting capacity and has continued to pursue in-country value addition in the Industry.

In 2021, Shell companies spent $800 million on contract awards to Nigerian registered companies while Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG), the domestic gas distribution entity of Shell Energy Nigeria business line, supplied 400 megawatts (MW) equivalent of gas-generated power to its customers in 2021.
