THUR. 09 FEB, 2023-theGBJournal| President Muhammadu Buhari has signed Executive Order No. 14 of 2023 on the facilitation and management of Presidential Transitions.
The new Executive Order puts in place a legal framework for the ‘’seamless transition of power from one Presidential Administration to another,’’ President Buhari noted in a statement today.
He said he has also approved the establishment of a Presidential Transition Council to be chaired by the Secretary to the Government of Nigeria (SGF), to facilitate and manage the 2023 Presidential transition process.
The Order sets in motion the end of the administration which began in 2015 when the administration first came into power under the All Progressives Congress (APC) party.
The administration will hand over power on May 29, 2023 following the conclusion of the general elections and the subsequent emergence of a new President.
