ABUJA, SEPTEMBER 27, 2016 – The newly inaugurated Senator representing Kogi East Senatorial District, Isaac Mohammed Alfa, on Tuesday expressed optimism that the Senate would intervene in insecurity in Kogi State. He gave this indication at a press briefing after his inauguration by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, at the red chambers.

Alfa, a former Chief of Air Staff, while calling to memory his contribution to National development during the military days noted that he was ready to put in his best not just as a representative of Kogi East, but the entire nation.

“I am not new in government, and I know before I left government sixteen years ago as Chief of Air Staff, I did my best in the interest of national development. I will put in my best this time as a Senator not just for my Senatorial District, but the entire nation,” he said.

He expressed that being in the Senate now has put him on a familiar terrain and the he will use his position to further the cause he has been championing.

Revealing that he has been coordinating responses to incidences of armed robberies, Alfa added that he pioneered “no thuggery campaign” in the state which he said would metamorphose into criminality when elections were over.
