TUE, MAY 14 2019-theG&BJournal-The Senate have begun the process to confirm the return of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor Godwin Emefiele for a second term.
The motion to actualise this was moved today on the floor of the Senate by Senate Leader, Senator Ahmed Lawan under the Executive Communication rule. His motion was seconded by Senator Phillip Aduda (PDP) during a plenary session presided by the out-going Senate President Bukola Saraki in Abuja.
The letter for the renewal of his tenure for another 5 years in office was signed by President Muhammed Buhari last week and sent to the Senate President in line with the CBN Act. His first term in office ends this June.
