FRI, JAN 19 2024-theGBJournal|The Common Entrance Examination Committee of the Delta State Ministry of Health has commenced the sale of forms for entrance examinations into the various Programmes in the State’s College of Nursing Sciences, and Departments of Midwifery and Nursing for the 2024 Session with a warning that the forms would not be sold online.
This was contained in a statement from the State Ministry of Health, Asaba, which stated that available programmes included the three years Basic Midwifery and two years Community Midwifery Programmes in March, 2024, for the award of Registered Midwife (R.M.) and Registered Community Midwife (R.C.M.) Certificates at the Department of Midwifery Asaba and Sapele respectively.
Others are the three years Basic Nursing and two years Community Nursing Programmes in April 2024, for the award of Registered Nurse (R.N.) and Registered Community Nursing (R.C.N.) Certificates at the College of Nursing Sciences Agbor, Eku, and Warri respectively.
The statement added that applicants for the Midwifery and Nursing Programmes must be within the ages of 17 and 25 years, and should have credits at SSCE/WASC O/L NECO in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry in not more than two sittings.
While those who applied for Community Midwifery and Nursing Programmes must be within the ages of 17 and 35 years with the same qualification as Nursing and Midwifery or NABTEB in one sitting.
Prospective students are expected to collect copies of their entrance examination form from their School of choice after a non-refundable payment of N15, 000.00 (fifteen thousand naira) for Midwifery and Nursing programmes, and N10, 000.00 (ten thousand naira) for Community Midwifery and Nursing programmes respectively.
The statement highlighted the examination schedule thus:
1-Basic Midwifery – March 11, 2024 at Dennis Osadebay University (former Delta State University, Anwai Campus).
2-Basic Nursing – Agbor – March 13, 2024; Warri – March 14, 2024 and Eku March 15, 2024 at the University of Delta, Agbor at 8am
3-Community Midwifery and Nursing – March 12, 2024 at Dennis Osadebay University (former Delta State University, Anwai Campus) at 8am.
4-On the day of examination, students are expected to come along with writing materials and photocopy of filled form as the examination would be Computer Based Test (CBT).
