MON SEPT 15 2025-theGBJournal| Stakeholders in the renewable energy space will converge at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja for the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) – Kebbi State Strategic Roundtable today.

Renewable Energy Service Companies (RESCOs), innovators, investors, and other critical players in the energy space are expected at the crucial roundtable.

The Roundtable serves as a forum to catalyze strategic partnerships between the State Government and the Renewable Energy Service Companies (RESCOs) poised to take on impactful clean energy projects and initiatives in the State.

Themed “Bridging Infrastructure Gaps and Igniting Innovative Growth for a Resilient Electricity Market”, the REA – Kebbi Roundtable is part of the ongoing State by State initiative to optimize the State’s electricity market.

REA is focused on advancing renewable energy technologies, unlocking new avenues for socio-economic development, and creating a resilient energy framework that will drive long-term prosperity in each State.

In line with the provisions of the amended 2023 Electricity Act, which empowers states to take more control over their energy sectors, the Kebbi State Government is poised to ensure a more efficient, transparent, and inclusive electricity market, and the collaboration with the REA will play a pivotal role in enhancing Kebbi’s energy access investments while prioritising clean and sustainable energy solutions.

Under the leadership of Kebbi State’s Executive Governor, Dr Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, the state continues to prioritize the development of a business-friendly electricity market, fostering an environment conducive to investment.

Through the establishment of the Kebbi State Electricity Regulatory Authority (KERA) in 2024, the State has been proactively working to regulate and manage its electricity market, utilising renewable energy solutions to enhance access and equity across all communities in the state.

The roundtable, activated by the MD/CEO of the REA, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, continues to strengthen impactful partnerships between State Governments, RESCOs, and other energy stakeholders.

This collaboration is aimed at leveraging innovative business models and investment opportunities that will shape Kebbi’s electricity market into a more resilient, sustainable, and accessible ecosystem.
