Rivers State Governor announces plan to investigate former Governor Wike’s tenure

MON MAY 13 2024-theGBJournal| Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, Monday said, he plans to establish a panel of inquiry to investigate the administration of former Governor Nyesom Wike, his predecessor.

Governor Fubara made this declaration during the swearing-in ceremony of Dagogo Iboroma as the new Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the state.

”Be prepared for what is ahead as he will be overseeing the setting up a panel of enquiry to probe the activities of the government within the last 8 years in the State,” Governor Fubara told the newly sworn-in Commissioner.

The Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Victor Oko-Jumbo had earlier confirmed Iboroma, SAN, as a commissioner to serve in the State Executive Council.

The governor also criticized statements made by the former Commissioner for Justice, Zacheus Adangor, and urged the new Attorney General to defend the state’s interests.

Recall that Adangor, resigned when he was redeployed to the Ministry to Special Duties,(Governor’s office) two weeks ago.
