The Presidential Committee on Flood Relief and Rehabilitation has donated drugs worth N8.8 million to victims of the 2015 flood in Kebbi.

The committee’s team leader, Alhaji Umar Garba, presented the drugs in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.

He said that the Federal Government set up the committee in 2012 under the chairmanship, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, to source funds from individuals, companies and corporate organizations.

“We urge that the material should be judiciously distributed to intended beneficiaries,’’ he said.

Garba said that the committee had also constructed a rehabilitation centre for Internally Displaced Persons located in the state.

A director in the Governor’s office, Alhaji Shuaibu Aliero, who received the drugs on behalf of the state government, commended the committee for the donation.

He assured that the drugs would be judiciously used for the benefit of the intended beneficiaries.
