WED 20 JAN, 2021-theGBJournal- President Donald Trump skipped the inauguration of President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris today promising his fanatical supporters that ‘’we will be back in some form,’’ in his last speech before departing to Florida in the Air Force 1 for the last time as the U.S. President. He becomes only the second U.S President to skip the inauguration since 1869.

Trump acknowledged Joe Biden will be sworn-in as the 46th President of the United States but did not mention his name during his brief ad-lib at the Andrews Air Force Base, a clear indication of his reluctance to acknowledge his bitter defeat at the U.S. Presidential election last November.

‘’I wish the new administration great luck and great success. I think they will have great success. They have the foundation to do something really spectacular,’’ he said.

He described his time at the Oval Office as an ‘’incredible four years’’ and thanked his family, friends including Vice President Mike Pence, his Attorney William Barr and a handful of people at the Andrews Air Force Base to see him off.

‘’Being your first Lady was my greatest honour,’’ Melina Trump, the President’s wife told the gathered crowd after she was surprising invited ‘’to say something’’ by the Trump. ‘’Thank you for your love and your support. It would be my thoughts and prayers. God bless you all,’’ she said.

Trump then spoke of his achievements- from the establishment of the space force, the veteran’s welfare, the stock market, tax cuts and the 75 million record votes he received at the November election.

‘’What we’ve done is been amazing by any standard,’’ he said. ‘’We rebuilt the United States military, we created a new force-the space force, that in itself would be a major achievement for a regular administration. We were not a regular administration.’’

Trump also took credit for the fast development of the coronavirus vaccine. ‘’We did something that is considered a medical miracle. We got the vaccine developed in nine months instead of nine years or five years or ten years.’’

‘’It is my greatest honour to and privilege to have been your president,’’ Trump said. ‘’I will always fight for you. I will be watching, I will be listening and I will tell you that the future of this country has never been better. The things that we’ve done has just been incredible and I couldn’t have done it without you. So, just to say good bye. We love you. We will be back in some form.’’
