SAT AUG 03 2024-theGBJournal| President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will Sunday make the first public speech since the start of the nationwide protest that has brought the country to a near standstill.

President Tinubu is expected to strike a somber tone to try to calm frayed nerves and at the same time speak to the measures he has, and will be putting in place to address the numerous demands that triggered the protest that began on August 1st, 2024.

The decision to address follows numerous calls on him by the protesters to personally address their demands which includes an end to bad governance, hunger and crippling price of petrol in the country which today sells as high as N860 in most petrol stations and as much as N1000 in black markets.

The address will start 7:00 am Nigerian time.

Television, radio, and other electronic media outlets have been enjoined to plug into the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) for the broadcast.

The broadcast will be repeated on the network services of the NTA and the FRCN at 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm on the same day.
