President Tinubu approves appointment of fresh faces to represent private sector interest in National Council on Privatization

Friday, DEC 08 2023-theGBJournal|President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of four new members of the National Council on Privatization (NCP), representing the private sector in the Council.

They include Oluwole Osin, South-West, Mohammed Mustapha Bintube, North-East, Olayiwola Yahaya — North-Central and Akwa Effion Okon, South-South.

The NCP is charged with overseeing the privatisation and commercialisation of public enterprises. Its members include the Attorney General of the Federation, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Minister of National Planning, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria as well as the Director General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, who serves as the Council’s Secretary.

The fifth Council was inaugurated former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on June 22, 2017.

The President charges the new members of the Council to bring the best of their private sector experience to bear in ensuring that Nigerians receive the greatest value and impact from investments that were made on their behalf.
