President Buhari swears in 6 new INEC Commissioners, presides over Federal Executive Council

WED 23 FEB, 2022-theGBJournal- President Muhammadu Buhari today presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House, Abuja where he swore-in six newly appointed National Commissioners of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The swearing-in ceremony preceded the commencement of the virtual meeting of the FEC held at the Council Chamber.

The new Commissioners are Malam Mohammed Haruna (Niger), Mrs May Agbamuche-Mbu (Delta), Ukaegbu Nnamdi (Abia), rtd Maj.-Gen. Abubakar Alkali (Adamawa), Prof. Rhoda Gumus (Bayelsa) and Mr Sam Olumekun (Ondo).

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan and Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila as well as Secretary to Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, some ministers as well as INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu were at the inauguration of the new Commissioners.
