THUR, 12 MAY, 2022-theGBJournal | President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday signed three key bills into law, the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Bills, 2022, the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Bill, 2022 and the Proceeds of Crime (Recovery and Magt) Bill, 2022.
President Buhari said during the signing ceremony that the ‘’new laws have provided enough punitive measures and containment strategies about abuses and compromises,’’ adding that the bills are in tandem with his administration’s commitment to fight corruption and illicit financial activities, as well as important to the governance agenda and the development of the country.
The President of the Senate, Dr Ahmad Lawan, SGF, Mr. Boss Mustapha, Chairman Senate Committee on Judiciary, Sen Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, Chief of Staff, Prof Ibrahim Gambari; Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami SAN and EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa were all present during the Signing of the Bills into Law at the State House Abuja.
