TUE 29 MARCH, 2022-theGBJournal| Following the terrorists attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train, President Muhammadu Buhari met today with security Chiefs including Chief of Defence Staff, Chief Defence Intelligence, DG DSS, Chief of Army Staff and Air Force Chief at the State House, Abuja.
The President directed the Chiefs to immediately conclude all processes for implementation of the Integrated Security Surveillance and Monitoring (ISSM) Solution for Abuja-Kaduna rail line.
The president also directed the extension of the ISSM Solution to cover the Lagos- Ibadan rail line and the rescue of all kidnapped passengers, and a manhunt for the terrorists, to ensure they are all made to face justice for the ‘’heinous acts.’’
He urged the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) management to speedily repair the damaged lines and resume normal service without delay.
‘’My earlier directive about the military should deal ruthlessly with terrorists stands,’’ he said, adding, ‘’anyone found unlawfully wielding an AK47 should not be spared. No one should be allowed to hold the country to ransom.’’
The President said he is deeply pained by the attack on the train, a ‘’safe means of transport to many is callous, our thoughts are with the families of the deceased, and prayers for the injured.’’
Meanwhile, the Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo was this afternoon at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna, to visit the victims of last night’s terrorists attack. He was accompanied by Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai of Kaduna State.
The Vice President said he was saddened by the ‘’mindless terrorist attack on citizens.’’
‘’We must for our nation and their memories fight on and defeat the cowards who unleash terror on those not armed. They will not break our spirits and our resolve. We will prevail and our land will be secure,’’ the Vice President said.
