ABUJA, FEBRUARY 21, 2017 – President Muhammadu Buhari said there was no cause to worry about his health but he had to stay longer on medical leave in Britain than planned, the presidency said on Tuesday.
“During his normal annual checkup, tests showed he needed a longer period of rest, necessitating the President staying longer than originally planned,” the presidency said in a statement.
“President Buhari wishes to reassure Nigerians that there is no cause for worry,” it said.
Recall that both National Assembly leaders met with the President recently at his vacation spot in London.
Buhari, who is currently on a medical vacation in London, was recently rumoured dead.
However, several dignitaries from Nigeria have visited him at the Abuja House in London with photographs of their visits published online.
Some of the photos have resulted to widespread condemnations from Nigerians, who have insisted that he speaks to the nation from his vacation to show he is alive.
