MON, 30 MAY, 2022-theGBJournal| The former governor of Anambra State, Nigeria, Peter Obi has been elected as candidate of the Labour Party of Nigeria for the 2023 presidential election.

The outspoken politician earned the ticket after his main contestant, Prof. Pat Utomi stepped down his presidential aspiration and endorsed Obi as the candidate for of the Labour Party.

Obi joined the Party last Friday in his ward in Anambra State and picked his form to contest the party’s presidential primary, which held today in Asaba, Delta State.

In the run-up to party’s National Convention today, the party’s National Youth Leader, Comr. Eragbe Anslem had also withdrawn from the race and declared support for Obi.

Recall that Obi dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last week Wednesday citing development within the party which he says has made it practically impossible to continue participating and making such constructive contributions within the party.
