THUR JULY 25 2024-theGBJournal| Nigeria’s Super Falcon fell 1-0 to Brazil in Bordeaux Stadium, France, in the first game, first round of the Paris Olympics 2024 women’s football tournament.
Brazil’s Marta, 38, scored the only goal of the game on the break, with a superb right foot strike from outside the 18 yard box.
The Super Falcons, with more strikes on target, missed several goal scoring chances before the break.
Recall that the Super Falcons last game at the Olympics was against Brazil in Beijing 16 years ago.
The Super Falcons play the World Champions, Spain on Sunday at the Stade De La Beaujoire.
