SAT, OCT 07 2023-theGBJournal|Israeli Commander, Nimrod Aloni has been captured by Hamas as dozens of Israelis, soldiers and civilians are believed to be in Hamas custody in Gaza today following early morning rockets attack on Israel by Hamas.
Spokesman for the Israeli Defense Force, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari has confirmed the hostage taking as well as losses among Israeli army.
Alonis is a commander of the ”Depth Corps”, the Israel Defence Force (IDF) deep operations unit that works in Palestinian territory. He is also the former commander of the Corps’ Gaza division.
Reports say as much as 70 people have been killed as well, with hundreds injured in the attack that took the IDF by surprise.

Reports say Hamas jammed Israeli communications and surveillance systems along the border with Gaza Strip before their unnoticed incursion began.
The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu has spoken to the U.S. President, Joe Biden and briefed him on the unfolding situation.
”I offered our support and reiterated my unwavering commitment to Israeli’s security. The First Lady and I express our heartfelt condolences to the families whO have lost loved ones,” the U.S President said in a statement on his X handle.
The U.S has since condemned what it termed ”the horrific attacks against Israel”, saying ”there is never any justification for terrorism. We will remain in close contact with our Israeli partners.”
Secretary Antony Blinken said the U.S government stands ”in solidarity with the government and people of Israel and extend our condolences for the Israeli lives lost in these attacks.”
Saudi Arabia in statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, called for ”an immediate halt to the escalation between the two sides, the protection of civilians, and restraint.”
