TUE 25 MAY, 2021-theGBJournal- Issa Aremu’s, (Vice President of industriALL Global Union and General Secretary of the National Union of Textile) appointment as the new Director and Chief Executive Officer Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS) has been hailed as an ‘’honour to the Nigerian Labour movement’’ by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC).
‘’Our expectation for you in your new appointment are huge, the Congress told Aremu in a letter conveyed to the seasoned labour leader signed by the NLC’s President, Ayuba Wabba.
‘’We expect that you use your great experience and expertise to occasion a turnaround of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies to better play its role as a foremost institute for industrial relations,’’ the NLC added.
The NLC celebrates the appointment as an acknowledgement of Aremu’s contributions to development of industrial relations in Nigeria.
The vibrant and dynamic labour leader is one of the most modern labour activists in Nigeria-both in terms of his ideas and his approach towards governance.
