OSCAR AWARD 2020: Brad Pitt wins first gong but it was Bong Joon Ho who stole the show

MON, FEB 10 2020-theG&BJournal– Brad Pitt wins first OSCAR as Actor in a Supporting Role with the movie Once upon a Time…in Hollywood at the 92nd Academy Awards 2020 held Sunday at the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center.
The Sunday, February 9, 2020 OSCARS honoured movies released in 2019.
Pitt already has one OSCAR in his locker as producer of the hit movie 12 years a slave but this is his first in acting role. He beat Tom Hanks-(A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood), Anthony Hopkins-(The Two Popes), Al Pacino-(The Irishman) and Joe Pesci-(The Irishman) to the coveted prize.
The movie ‘Parasite’ made history when it became the first non-English language movie to win Best Picture while the director South Korean Bong Joon Ho won the OSCAR for Original ScreenPlay and the international feature film category. Non-English films have been nominated in the past for Best Picture but Parasite broke 92-year jinx.
Three of the recipients were first-time winners, with Joaquin Phoenix winning for his title role in “Joker,” a dark drama spun out of the Batman franchise.
